Equipment

Cinco de Mayo, 2004
Oaks Convention Center

My largest setup can provide 30,000 watts of 3-way active stereo sound reinforcement, enough for up to 1,200 people in most musical applications and a crowd of up to 2,000 people for speeches/vocal presentations. It can also be split into two independent club-size systems suitable for a few hundred people each.

My goal four years ago was to build not necessarily the cheapest, most expensive, or the "biggest" collection of equipment, but to build a system that was good. Today, the system IS pretty big (relatively speaking), and it's built on good components. All my gear is professional gear. At the heart of my system is a 32-channel Allen & Heath GL-2400, one of the best SR mixers available. My speakers are from JBL's top SRX series. I use three racks of QSC PLX-series amplifiers to provide 34,800 watts of power to the mains and monitors. Finally, I tie everything together with a dbx DriveRack PA digital controller/crossover. I also have a full rack of high-quality signal gear, including a Presonus ACP88 eight-channel compressor and a Lexicon MX200 dual-engine effects processor. I can provide up to 4 monitor mixes. Ten-track CD-quality digital recording is also available.

What does this all mean? Almost every time I work with a new customer, or in a new venue, I get compliments on how clear and "good" it sounds. I have even been asked to help redesign the house PA more than once on my very first visit. However, having good equipment is only part of the equation. I am always working to improve my mix and my sound, and I would love the opportunity to work with you.

The List
Updated March 6, 2007

I'm always adding to my list. If you require something not on this list, such as closed or broadcast video and screens, or any large or unique requirements, I have working relationships with several regional production companies that enable me to find, rent, subcontract, or buy most anything you need while providing a single technical point of contact for your event.
